True, but it wasn't applied to viral internet content on a large scale until the late 2000s. I learned the "unit of cultural transfer" definition for meme in my art history class in 2003 and thought "what a strange word, I've never heard this before" and years went by before I heard it applied to mainstream internet content. Most of the 2000s we used "viral" for videos and "image macro" for pictures that constantly had their text interchanged.

Lucky you! I was part of a clinical trial that involved ketamine, and having recently had a radical change in world view that involved (among other things) the nature of consciousness, I was keen on having that experience. But I wasn’t able to complete protocol, so I missed out! And no way am I going to try that stuff outside of a supervised clinical setting.

My daughter was given ketamine when she needed stitches in her upper lip. She had fallen in the school play yard and a fresh wood chip (I hate them) cut her. Her eyes were rolling around, she said the sink was dancing. She def went somewhere on that "trip".
